Enugu North, Owan East, Nembe Chairmen Amongst Others bag Best Performing Local Government chairmen in Nigeria for the year 2018.

The award annually organised by LOGMA, powered by Mentors Communications Ltd , was held on Thursday, 29th November, 2018 at National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
In a speech, National Coordinator of LOGMA and CEO of Mentors Communications, Prince Bayode Ojo, says, “the noble idea of rewarding exemplary leadership at the grassroots was to stimulate fair competition for service delivery at the local government levels.
He spoke of Hon. Onoh achievement thus, “ Hon. Emmanuel Onoh’s achievements in the fields of developmental projects, governance (strategy and leadership) and overall performances are so empowering and remarkable”, he stated.
The Enugu North Council Mayor in a brief remark after receiving the award, thanked the organisers for finding him worthy of the honour, says,
“I take this honour as a challenge and I will ensure that I do my best for my people wherever I find myself. It is heart warming to know that what we have done so far is being noticed by the public.”
Onoh, who dedicated the award to the good people of Enugu North Local Government Area, praised them for their continuous support and prayers which has culminated to the achievements for which he was being honoured.

Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State, Hon. Osigwe Andrew in his own acceptance speech says,
“It is with humility and a great sense of responsibility that I stand before you this afternoon to accept this award.
I am indeed most thankful, full of praises and adoration to Almighty God for granting me the opportunity to being doing the best for my people”, he said .
Among this year awardees is Nembe local government Chairman, Chief Beifieinemo Igbela Fiberseimo represented by Olutu. M. Diete at the event, said that developmental projects in the council were executed perfectly with sole objective of bettering the lives of the Nembe people and lay foundation for the future generations to benefit from.
Giving the congratulatory remarks after the event, Prince has this to say to other Nigeria council chairmen and Nigerians, “while some local government chairmen merely fold their arms complaining about poor funding and economic crunch, others made the best use of whatever situation they find themselves,” saying that “this is the line between the idler and the achiever.”
He further admonished the recipients not to see this as a mere gift for celebration, but a call to greater service. A reminder that they must continue to do their best at every given time to the benefit of their people.
