Jigawa LG Polls: Re-elected Chairmen Re-state Commitments to People

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won all the 27 chairmanship seats in the just concluded Jigawa State the local government elections conducted by the state INEC, Jigawa State Independence Electoral Commission (JIGSIEC)held on saturday, 29th June 2019.

Despite, the election was  boycotted by the major  opposition party in the state- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the election was very peaceful and orderly in the state, and turn-outs impressive according to those interviewed.

Herewith are the extracts from the interview National Enquirer had with each of the Seven Chairmen.

Each thanked their keen supporters, security operatives, political parties and observers for their contribution towards the peaceful conduct of the elections and expressed “words of recommitment” to continue serving better, and delivering dividends of democracy from the grassroots level.

“I was voted back because my people love with I did and, I will continue working with the government to serve them more. I stand for continuity

“You can see the turn-out is very impressive. All I need for my supporters is to continue praying for Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari, Our Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar and my own very self Ahmed for continuity, for Almighty Allah to help us to finish the good works we are doing for our people and Nigeria”, he said.

“The elections went very well. We have no issues and everybody was going round. You can see what we have done with the communities, and as I am going into a second tenure, my duty is to make sure, I continue carrying everybody around knowing ideas can come from anybody”.

“Am thanking my supporters for revoting me back and I will continue not disappointing them”, he said.

“So far so good. I am impressed by the turn out of people to who come out and voted”

“The Chairman of this council is my boy, a former party chairman and he has done things well when he was occupying the chairman, and we have high expectations of him now he has becomes Our local government chairman. With the direct financing now -autonomous, he will do more.
Our duty at the state assembly as lawmakers, is to checkmate their activities. We are there to see nothing go out check and balances. It’s even as they can now get jobs done. My duty is to make law not to build or repair roads, supply water to the communities, it is the duty of the chairman to do that while I make law to guide them. So, I believe he will do his best and take our council to the next level”, he said.

”Today, the elections have just been held, and I thank Almighty Allah for being voted back. Beside, our party, has done well in the state, communities especially rural areas have benefited well from this state government.

And I am thanking our supporters for their respects and supports to us.
Talking about issue of local government chairmen autonomy, we are going to abide by the rules, follow directives from federal, state down to local government. We are only seeking for divine protection from Almighty Allah to enable us accomplished those plans we have for our people, and I am promising that I will do my best”.

“You must have seen the works we have done and doing for the people of these communities as you are coming and, you are free to go round more.
You must have seen the progress we are making. And I am thanking Almighty Allah, for my reelection, and I will continue doing my best to take this local government to the next level”, he said.
