..Eden Hazard completes €100m move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid have revealed Eden Hazard will wear the No 7 shirt at Real Madrid after he completed his transfer from Chelsea for an initial fee of £89m which could rise to £150m.

Hazard, who had one year left on his contract, described his move to the Bernabeu as a “dream” and said Madrid was the only club for whom he would have left Chelsea.

The 28-year-old will be officially unveiled in the Spanish capital next week, but his new No 7 shirt was already pictured hanging in the club’s official shop even before the announcement on Friday evening.

Real Madrid’s No 7 shirt was worn most famously by Raul from 1994-2010 and Cristiano Ronaldo from 2010-2018.  This season it was briefly worn by Mariano, the 25-year-old forward, but he will vacate the shirt for the Belgian star’s arrival.

Hazard wore No 17 when he arrived at Chelsea before switching to No 10 which he made his own, but Real Madrid’s No 10 is already taken by Luka Modric.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will take over Chelsea’s No 7 shirt.
